Patient Awareness Meeting on Respiratory Allergies (Doctor Tumchya Bhetila)

Living the UCB vision, mission and values, we always look forward for scientific collaboration with the stakeholders including doctors and people with various disorders.

Considering the care for patients, we have initiated a series of Patient Awareness Meetings to create awareness about the disease profile and management modalities in various therapeutic areas. This series of events is being carried out in collaboration with Rotary Club of Thane Green City.

On 26th July 2009, we successfully conducted 1st patient awareness meeting on "Respiratory Allergies". Around 70 patients were present in this awareness programme.

The speakers on this topic were Dr. Kamal Ghanshyamnani (MS ENT) and Dr. Sanjiv Walanj (MD Pulmonologist and Intensivist).

The speakers made a pictorial presentation on the topic in local language (Marathi and Hindi) in a simplified way. The presentation was followed by a plethora of questions from the patients. The questions ranged from knowing about details of the allergies to the management of specific allergies.

Overall, the response obtained from the participants was very good which gave us better understanding of their needs and will help us to provide patient centric innovative medical solutions.
